EL CURSO ES PRESENCIAL Y SE IMPARTE EN MADRID

PRESENTATION


The course Graphic Design and Creativity aims to study the fields of creativity, graphic design and advertising communication. It pretends to analyze the circumstances and urgencies to master the visual and technological speech in today’s society.

The course is based upon two principles: a highly professional perspective, where art directors and professionals share their working experiences with the students and an international touch, vital to understand any creative activity today.

TARGET GROUP

The Target groups of the course are graduate and postgraduate students from the disciplines such as: design, advertising, communication and visual arts. We aim to receive students from all over Europe and the United States.

We also intend to reach those professionals interested in reviewing creativity not only from a professional perspective, but also from the academic reflection.

OBJECTIVES

The objectives of the course are the following:
- To study the keys to creativity and graphic design through the theoretical revision of the fundamentals of the disciplines and the exhibition of professional portfolios.
- To empower the visual culture and knowledge and recognition of the work developed not only in Spain but in Europe as well. This will be achieved not only through the theoretical explanations, but also by guided visits to two of the culturally most vibrant places in Madrid (The Slaughter house and La Casa Encendida) and to the advertising agency TBWA Madrid.
- To explain the creative process through practical work. The Students must complete a creative campaign in three workshops where a professional Art Director from Casadevall & Pedreño will guide them through the different steps from the initial briefing initial to the final production.

METHODOLOGY

The methodology of the course is divided into theoretical and practical work. In the theoretical expositions the students will learn from professionals and scholars about the fundamentals and the state of the question involving different fields.
The practical work is focused on the creative workshops mentioned above, where students will be responsible for a complete advertising campaign that will be judged in a final presentation.
We also include guided visits to learn from cultural initiatives that empower creativity in Madrid such as the Slaughterhouse (Europe’s biggest cultural project) and La Casa Encendida (Madrid’s fresher artistic place) and also a professional agency such as TBWA Madrid.

MODULES

The course Graphic Design and Creativity will run from July 16th to July 20th. We offer 1,5 ECTS credits, meaning 40 hours of student work.
